Manpower Cyprus is hiring, on behalf of a global FMCG client, a Retail Operations Manager to lead and grow a nationwide Retail Execution / Field Operations / Merchandising service across Cyprus, ensuring consistently high service levels while taking ownership of a growing P&L. The role is based at the client’s offices in Nicosia, with frequent travel to stores nationwide.

The role

The successful candidate will join our global client’s team and will be responsible for coordinating and communicating with clients while leading a large Retail Execution / Field Operations / Merchandising team. The focus is on delivering high-quality, consistent service in line with defined standards and operating procedures, while driving performance and profitability.

Main duties & responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations and service delivery across all cities in Cyprus, ensuring consistent execution and high service quality.
  • Build strong client relationships: manage expectations, align on priorities, and ensure delivery in line with agreed standards, scope, and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational performance, productivity, and service consistency.
  • Strengthen and continuously improve the Retail Execution / Field Operations / Merchandising service offering, including processes, reporting, and service standards.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a large field team across Cyprus, ensuring engagement, capability development, and strong performance management.
  • Drive effective scheduling and workforce coverage to maximize store execution and utilization.
  • Combine office-based leadership (KPIs, performance reviews, commercial agreements, scheduling, and planning) with field leadership (store visits, audits, coaching, and issue resolution).
  • Identify and develop business opportunities to expand services and increase market share with existing and new clients.
  • Build long-term partnerships with local partners and customers to strengthen delivery capability and service quality.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to service/product development to maximize profitability.
  • Own the division budget and manage the P&L, ensuring profitable growth and tight cost control.

Skills & qualifications

  • University degree in Logistics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of proven experience managing Retail Execution / Field Operations / Merchandising / Logistics and/or FMCG operations.
  • Proven ability to implement best practices and lead a large multi-site workforce.
  • Strong commercial awareness (pricing understanding and confidence managing client terms).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Greek.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of FMCG systems/ERP environments and solid project/process management exposure.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills; hands-on, self-motivated, and results-driven.
