Manpower Cyprus on behalf of our client , a leading renewable energy group in Limassol, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of utility-scale and commercial renewable energy infrastructure, with a primary focus on photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. The successful candidate will play a central role in the electrical design lifecycle, from initial studies and grid connection applications through detailed engineering, procurement support, site coordination, and commissioning.
This position is suited to an experienced electrical engineering professional with strong technical knowledge in LV and MV systems, ideally gained within renewable energy, power distribution, or EPC project environments. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to technically demanding projects within a dynamic and growth-oriented energy organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce electrical designs for PV and BESS projects at LV and MV levels, up to 11kV/22kV.
- Develop single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and detailed electrical layouts.
- Perform sizing and selection of cables, transformers, switchgear, and protection equipment.
- Carry out load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination studies.
- Design earthing, bonding, and lightning protection systems.
- Prepare grid connection studies and manage applications to the DSO/TSO through to connection agreement stage.
- Ensure all designs comply with the Cyprus Grid Code, Distribution Code, and applicable IEC standards.
- Specify electrical equipment and prepare technical documentation, including BOQ/BOM and datasheet reviews.
- Support procurement activities, contractor coordination, site supervision, testing, and commissioning.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with practical project delivery experience and the ability to coordinate effectively across technical and operational stakeholders. A hands-on, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven approach will be essential for success in this role.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- ETEK registration in the relevant electrical discipline, or eligibility to register.
- Proven experience in LV and MV electrical design, ideally in renewable energy or power distribution projects.
- Strong working knowledge of IEC 60364, IEC 61936, and IEC 60909.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or an equivalent electrical CAD platform.
- Experience using power system analysis software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or EasyPower.
- Solid expertise in cable sizing, protection coordination, and earthing design.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PV design tools and energy yield modelling.
- BESS electrical integration experience.
- Direct experience coordinating grid connections with the DSO.
- EPC project delivery and commissioning experience.
